Frequently Asked Questions
How much does your service cost?
We charge £40 ($50) for a one-hour session.
If you’d like us to review work beforehand, preparation is charged at £20 ($25) for each 30 minutes required.
The amount of time required depends on your preference and the number of words. We can discuss your needs before confirming pricing.
How often can I book a session?
You can book as many sessions as you’d like. Some people prefer to meet once to address a specific issue. Others may wish to have several sessions to build and practice skills.
The aim is that you can take what you learned and apply it by yourself.
Can you help me with other parts of my work, like research or careers?
If you are a psychology student, we are open to helping you with areas outside academic skills (i.e., academic reading, writing, critical thinking) that fall within our areas of expertise.
Check our profiles for additional areas.
Then contact us (see contact details at the bottom of the screen) and we can discuss what help we can provide and pricing (depending on the complexity of what is needed).
Can you guarantee me a better grade or help me appeal a grade?
We can’t guarantee grades, suggest what grade you’ll receive or intervene with your institution about grade. We believe that improving your underlying skills will help improve your grades. In an hour long, 1:1 session we might be better placed to understand underlying questions you have and address those.
We are familiar with the requirements at different levels of study in the UK but are not subject matter experts in every area of psychology and are not informed about the specific rubrics, standards, policies and instructions you will receive from your own instructors.
You are responsible for the work you submit, ensuring you meet the requirements of your assignments and meeting the guidance provided by your instructors. We can support your thinking and application of that information.
Can you help me write or edit my assignment?
Our service is aligned with our stance on academic integrity - that work submitted for an award is your own and demonstrates your grasp of the material. We want to focus on building your transferable skills beyond one piece of work to improve your work overall.
You are responsible for the work you produce and submit to your institution.
How is this different to my university’s academic skills service?
Academic support staff may not be psychologists and can’t give you specific advice about how to apply skills in psychology. We have fewer limits on how often you can access our services. We may be more available. It might be easier to ask some questions to someone outside your university system.
